Youth Programs Division

The Youth Programs Division engages youth between the ages of 5 and 35 years old in various National Park Service programs to develop a life-long commitment to support our national parks and protect our natural environment and cultural heritage. Currently there are over 25 youth programs operating throughout the National Park System. Youth programs encompass a wide of missions and responsibilities including the fostering of a strong relationship between youth and the natural and cultural resources managed by the NPS and instilling a work ethic into our nation’s youth.

Geologic Resources Division

The Geologic Resources Division, one of the science offices in the NPS Natural Resource Stewardship and Science Directorate assists the NPS to meet its mission “…to preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.” The Geologic Resources Division manages two service-wide natural resource science internship programs – Mosaics in Science and Geoscientists-in-the-Parks.  GRD also provides scientific, policy, and technical leadership and guidance to NPS resource managers, stakeholders, and decision-makers for the protection and management of geologic and interdependent ecosystem resources of the National Park System.
