Work with the park's Biological Technician and citizen scientists to monitor subalpine butterfly populations, plant phenology, and to communicate to visitors the effects of climate change on butterflies and plants. The intern will help train new citizen scientists in butterfly identification and monitoring protocols, will carry butterfly nets to catch and release butterflies, and conduct field surveys along established routes. He/she will also enter data into databases. This park is rural and remote with limited cell phone coverage. The intern must be able to hike 5-10 miles and camp overnight at elevations 5,000' and higher.
