The intern will participate in several projects, including scientific communication and outreach for the park, raising awareness of bats and White Nose Syndrome and assistance with bat monitoring. Field work will comprise up to 50% of the work. Applicants should have communication skills and some experience working with the public and/or delivering programs. Familiarity with basic map reading and GPS and experience hiking is valuable. Some nighttime work will be required. Up to half of the internship will focus on completing in-cave survey of maternal colonies and organizing outflight populations surveys.
