15 Aug Hello, Karly!
Meet Saguaro’s Geoscientists in the Parks intern, Karly Chin! She hails from Redding, California, and was already an environmentalist and biologist before working in the park. She previously researched environmental change and infectious diseases at the Hopkins Marine Station in Monterey, C.A. Karly believes it’s important to build sustainable communities, so much so that she traveled all the way to India with the Kakatiya Sandbox organization. She spent the summer collaborating with local communities on education and environmental projects. Currently a senior at Stanford, Karly writes for the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment during the school year. When she’s not getting stabbed by cholla cacti, Karly enjoys painting, reading, and getting lost in the wilderness (preferably during sunset).
