In the Heart of Nature

In the Heart of Nature

For my internship, I’m normally out in the field every day, specifically in and out of the water. With all of this, during my free time, I still plan to explore the park. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is over 33,000 acres, and with a park this size, there’s a lot to explore. So far, I have completed a few hikes by myself or with other interns.

With each hike, I feel that I’m entering a new dimension. The sounds and visuals from neighboring habitats pull me in, it’s an aura I rarely come by. Throughout the hikes, I feel at peace with myself plus at times, I don’t even want to leave! By having such experiences, I encourage others to go out to explore the areas at least once. Many don’t have the opportunities to be one with nature in their own spaces. Traveling out of their comfort zones may appear to be a hassle. If the opportunity is available, I continuously encourage people to take the risk since it may be of value to them.
